Cricut for the Classroom

Are you thinking about investing in a circuit for your classroom?

I have had my Cricut Explore Air for 3 years and at first I was hesitant to spend the money because it is pricy but I am here to share with you why it is worth every penny!

Here are four reasons why you should invest in a Cricut and why once you get it you won’t know how you lived without it!

  • You can design your own letters for your bulletin board! My first year of teaching I spent money on already cut out letters that I bought from Dollar Tree. I didn’t love the font or the color of the letters. What ’s great about the Cricut is you can pick and use any font you want! One of my favorite fonts that I use for my bulletin board is called DonJuan (thanks Linnie my cousin for introducing to this cute font!) I laminate Astrobright paper that I buy on Amazon and cut the letters on that paper. I laminate the letters first (trust me it’s so much easier that way) so that way I can reuse the letters year after year. It looks so great on the bulletin board!

  • Another way is to organize, decorate, and customize bins, trays, and containers. I buy most of these items from Target and Dollar Tree because they are all either $1 or $3! Over the years I have made table caddies, Tidy Tubs for each table to place paper inside so students are not going back and fourth to the trash can, and a book buddies bin which is a place to store stuffed animals in the library. These are just some examples!

  • As a teacher we have so many days we celebrate throughout the school year such as Holidays and Spirit Days! Don’t forget The 100th Day of School! I love that I am able to make and design a shirt like Happy 100th Day of School using the Cricut! I am able to wear this shirt for years to come. I buy the shirt that is less than $10 from Michales!

  • Lastly what better way to use your Cricut than to make personalized water bottle!? You can buy the water bottles for $1 at Dollar Tree! I gave this to my students are the end of the year and they were thrilled. It is personalized and student’s love it!

As you can see the possibilities are endless! As teachers this Cricut gives us just another way to use our creativity in the classroom! Check out the pictures below which shows some of the Cricut projects over the past three years.
